Mr Stephen Salerno received his medical degree from Monash University in 1995 and worked, in a number of hospitals in Victoria and England, before commencing formal Plastic surgery training in 2004.
He completed his training and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2008. He has been practising as a Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon for the last 15 years and has a dual site practice with Private Rooms in Werribee and Moonee Ponds.
He is a Melanoma expert and regularly attends the Melanoma clinic at the Alfred Hospital where he is also appointed as a Plastics and Burns surgeon. He is regularly involved in the education and training of junior surgeons. Mr Salerno has extensive experience in the management of Skin Cancers and performs surgical procedures both in Public and Private hospitals and onsite in our clinics. He offers services in the diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of skin cancer and the ongoing surveillance with Molemap skin checks provided by our team of Melanographers. He also specialises in hand surgery such as Carpal Tunnel Decompression, Trigger Finger and Ganglion removal.
Mr Salerno has a keen aesthetic eye and has years of experience performing Cosmetic surgeries such as Breast Reduction, Abdominoplasty, Liposuction and Upper Eyelid Surgery (Blephtharoplasty) to name a few. He is cofounder of Papillon Skin Clinic (Moonee Ponds) and has the resources to use other modalities to enhance the surgical result by minimising the scar. He is renowned for his knowledge, his surgical skill and together with his attention to detail you can be sure you will be in safe hands.
